The Problem
Reputation is the front door. Most businesses treat it like an afterthought.
For local businesses, reputation is often the first product experience a customer has. Before they call, book, visit, or buy, they look at reviews, star ratings, recency, and the overall trust signals around the business. That moment is happening constantly, and most businesses have no system for managing it.
Review requests happen inconsistently. Happy customers are not always prompted at the right time. Negative feedback becomes a public review before the business has a chance to respond. Local visibility is hard to understand. Competitor performance is unclear. Business owners see reviews as isolated comments instead of a signal worth acting on.
The design challenge was to make reputation management feel simple, automated, and directly tied to business growth for owners who do not have time to become marketing experts.
Product Vision
Reputation as a growth loop, not a review inbox
Most reputation tools treat reviews as something to collect and display. ReviewsRight is designed around a different idea: that reputation is a compounding system where better reviews improve visibility, better feedback improves the product, and a better product generates better reviews.
Ask
Automated review requests sent via SMS or email at the right moment after a customer interaction.
Collect
Step-by-step review forms guide customers to the right platform. Private feedback captured before it goes public.
Monitor
All reviews from 35+ platforms synced automatically. New reviews surface instantly with AI-assisted response suggestions.
Analyze
Sentiment analysis surfaces recurring praise, recurring complaints, and patterns worth acting on.
Compete
Local visibility tracking and competitive analysis show exactly where the business is winning and where it is falling behind.
Improve
Customer feedback becomes operational intelligence: what to fix, what to reinforce, and what drives repeat visits.
The Platform
Everything in one place
The platform was designed to reduce effort at every step. Local business owners should be able to understand their reputation performance at a glance, respond to reviews without switching between tabs, and let automation handle the repetitive parts.

Feature Set
Designed for busy operators, not marketing teams
The core design principle was simplicity without sacrificing depth. A solo business owner and a multi-location operator should both find the platform immediately useful without needing to become power users first.
Automated review requests
SMS and email review requests sent automatically after customer interactions. Consistent outreach without manual work.
35+ platform sync
All reviews from Google, Facebook, Yelp, Trustpilot, TripAdvisor, and 30+ more synced automatically into one dashboard.
Private feedback channel
Unhappy customers are routed to a private feedback form before they leave a public review. Issues get resolved, not broadcast.
AI-powered response automation
Review responses suggested and automated with AI. Businesses maintain consistent engagement without spending hours per week on replies.
Sentiment analysis
Reviews analyzed for recurring themes, praise patterns, and complaint trends. The dashboard surfaces what customers are actually saying.
Customizable widgets
Review display widgets and request forms branded to match each business. Reputation becomes a visible trust signal, not just a background metric.

Design Thinking
Connecting reviews to outcomes local businesses understand
The hardest UX problem in ReviewsRight was not automation. It was making the connection between reputation and real business outcomes visible. Most business owners know reviews matter in some abstract sense, but they do not see the direct line from a new review to better local search placement to more phone calls.
Every reporting decision was made with that in mind. The dashboard does not show vanity metrics. It shows what changed, why it might have changed, and what the owner should do next. Review count, recency, response rate, competitor comparison, and search visibility are all connected in one view rather than spread across separate reports.
The private feedback channel was a particularly important design decision. Giving unhappy customers a direct line to the business before they post publicly reduces negative reviews, improves customer relationships, and gives the business actionable information it would not otherwise receive. It turns a reputation risk into an operational feedback loop.
Impact
A system that compounds over time
ReviewsRight demonstrates my ability to design productized systems that connect UX, automation, and measurable business outcomes. Building it as a founder meant owning the full product surface: positioning, workflow design, reporting model, automation strategy, and growth.
The most important proof point is that the product is live and running. The decisions described here are reflected in what you can see at reviewsright.com today.
Reflection
What this project proves
ReviewsRight shows how I approach product design from both a user and business growth perspective. The real opportunity was not just helping businesses collect more reviews. It was connecting reputation, visibility, customer feedback, and business improvement into one system with a clear, compounding return over time.
Building it as a founder meant making every trade-off myself: what to build first, what to automate, what to leave manual, and how to make complex local SEO concepts feel approachable to a business owner who has twenty other things to manage. That kind of product thinking is what I bring to every engagement, whether I am building the product myself or designing for someone else's team.
